It took me a while to think up of a name for my blog, all the good domains are taken of course. In the end, I chose to use the status of my gchat account, “working with passion.” I’ve had the same status for about 2 years now, since that’s what I’ve been doing for the past 2 years. I know I’m the 100th person you’ve heard say, you have to enjoy what you do in order to be successful… well no shit. That’s not what I mean by “working with passion.” A great woman (no, not my mom) once taught me that a man without purpose is a man without passion. You need to have a real purpose for doing anything or what’s the point? Do you think Michelangelo painted that church for the money? He did it out of pure insane passion, and probably to impress a girl. Drive is one of the most important factors for running a startup or anything else for that fact. The source of our drive needs to be real. Money, success, an article in the NY Times, etc. is nice and all, but it’s not real, because it does not last. Love however, that lasts till your last breath, that’s real, that should be your motivation. I get up in the morning not because my board will be pissed if I don’t show up, but because the people I care about the most, my family and friends, are the ones who backed Hotlist. Working with passion means working with your heart.
